If you have been thinking of making your pooch into a Therapy Dog or a dog that can help children read, or if you have been searching for dog training classes taught using American Sign Language (For people. Not the dog!), check out the Austin Dog Alliance. They are a non-profit group dedicated to teaching these skills, plus your regular ‘ole dog and puppy obedience.
If this has piqued your interest, they are hosting a volunteer orientation on January 16th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and they need more than just trainers. Take a look: Volunteer opportunities.
