Monty’s New Collar

A new site offering collars for dogs and cats, has come to our attention: www.FelineFido.com. We decided to try them out and give Monty a fresh new look for spring. Above is Monty modeling his new collar.

FelineFido offers grosgrain ribbon stitched onto nylon buckle collars. Many have hip, retro patterns and lots of holiday specific collars. Several collars include a donation to Breast Cancer Awareness, as part of the purchase price. Which means many PINK collars to choose from. (For those of you with girls, you know pink is a necessary color to dress them up in. And even drenched in pink, someone is still going to come up to your girl and ask a question about “him”.)

Because we prefer harnesses for our nose-challenged crew, made an inquiry about harnesses. They are in the works and will be on the site soon. We’ll be keeping an eye out for them.

Can we make a point or two?

What about a 4 point major!?!

We are ever so happy and proud to report, our girl Cocoa took a 4 point major today!

She won 1st in her class (Open), then Winners, then Best of Winners, and finally, Best of Opposite Sex.

Her daughter, Vivian, took Reserve Winner to her win and 1st place for her Puppy Group. Monty came in Second in his Puppy class.

Everyone did very nicely in the ring, especially the handler Colleen Murphy. (She is grace under pressure.) We’d like to thank Judge George J. Heitzman for awarding Cocoa this wonderful major.

Love is a Warm Puppy

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Enjoy some pictures from one of our past litters. The pups were born the day before Valentine’s and fit quite nicely in the velvet candy box a few days later.

The little Pied puppy is now our grownup Cocoa.

There are 38 Frenchies entered total. Ring time is 8:30AM ET on Monday.

Here are this year’s invited entries for the French Bulldog breed:
CH Daulokke’s Nordique Crouton
CH Etoile Billy Joe Royal

CH Jaguar’s Chewbaca Jamel
CH Justjackpot Margaux Of Lejardin

Bit ‘o history

The French Bulldog made its first appearance at the 1896 Westminster show and was on the cover of the Westminster show program the following year.

Another first: a large-scale, single breed show was held in 1889 by no other than the newly-formed French Bull Dog Club of America. This French Bulldog Specialty took place in New York City at the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel and blazed a path for other breeds to follow by hosting their own fashionable speciality shows.

Followup on results:

Best of Breed Winner: Ch Windmarks What a Guy

Best of Opposite Sex: Ch Fabelhaft Eybuls Kiss-A-Bull

Award of Merit:

  • Ch Justjackpot Margaux Of Lejardin
  • Ch Etolie Billy Joe Royal
  • Ch Rock’N Roll EC Show Me The Money
